The immediate past National President of the Young People’s Guild (YPG), Edwin Ahwireng, has been welcomed by the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) as an intern.
The WCRC internship programme provides young leaders with valuable opportunities to gain experience in international church work and ecumenical engagement while contributing their skills to support the mission and activities of the global communion.
As YPG National President, Edwin played a pivotal role in initiatives aimed at the spiritual and social development of young people within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG). He worked closely with youth across the country, representing their concerns and aspirations at the national level.
Beyond his service in the PCG, Edwin has also contributed to youth leadership at the continental level. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee of the All-Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), collaborating with young church leaders across Africa to ensure that the perspectives and voices of young people are represented in shaping the future of the church on the continent.
Edwin is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, building expertise in networking, database management, and system architecture. He has also developed competencies in graphic design and web development, combining technical knowledge with creativity in digital communication. His practical experience in digital media includes developing visual identities, supporting social media communication, and strengthening organizational branding through digital platforms.
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana commends Edwin Ahwireng for his dedication to youth ministry and leadership, expressing confidence that his participation in the WCRC internship programme will further equip him to contribute meaningfully to the work of the church both locally and globally.
