On the first day of his weeklong pastoral visit to the Bring Ahafo Presbytery, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has explained the import of his visit saying that he has not only brought greetings from the General Assembly Council and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana worldwide, but he has also come to learn and share.
Describing the Brong Ahafo Presbytery as one of the “big and vibrant” presbyteries of the church, the Moderator explained the focus of his visit. “I have come here to learn about what is happening in the Brong Ahafo Presbytery. I have come with my ears. But I have also come to share with you what is happening in our church,” he said.
He expressed confidence in its continued contribution to the growth of the church and commended the leadership of Chairperson Rev. Benjamin Appiah and the Presbytery Lay Representative for their positive contributions at the General Assembly Council.
The Moderator particularly thanked the Presbytery for successfully hosting the first-ever 2025 Global Crusade, which set the pace for subsequent crusades, including the recently organised 2026 edition in the Asante Presbytery. He also congratulated the Presbytery on its 60th Anniversary, urging members to embrace the responsibility that comes with such a feat.
“I hope you will not just take the name 60 years but will do things to demonstrate that indeed you are 60 years,” he remarked, assuring them of his participation in the climax celebration scheduled for May 2026.
He mentioned key areas he intends to highlight during the pastoral visit, including the Bicentennial Anniversary, the Kutunse Project, and Agenda 2 Million, underscoring the importance of these initiatives for the future of the church.
