The Director of the Department of Social Services (DSS) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Mrs. Teiko Sabbah, has made a passionate appeal to health professionals, particularly members of the church, to willingly accept postings to Presbyterian health facilities across the country.

Speaking during the maiden edition of PCG Connect, Mrs. Sabbah emphasised the critical role of skilled personnel in sustaining the church’s health ministry. She noted that while the church continues to invest in infrastructure and equipment, the presence of committed and compassionate health workers remains essential to delivering quality care.

She called on doctors, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals within the church to view postings to Presbyterian facilities not merely as professional assignments, but as a call to service and ministry. Serving in such areas, she underscored, offers a unique opportunity to impact lives, demonstrate Christ’s love through care, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Mrs. Sabbah further encouraged young professionals and newly trained practitioners to remain open‑minded and committed, stressing that their willingness to serve in rural areas can greatly strengthen the church’s mission of holistic care.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana continues to play a vital role in the nation’s healthcare delivery, operating hospitals and clinics that serve thousands of people. The DSS Director’s appeal is expected to inspire renewed commitment among health practitioners to support and sustain this legacy of service.
