The Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has arrived in the Washington DC District as part of his pastoral visit to the North America–Australia Presbytery (NAAP). His arrival marks another significant stop on his tour of congregations across the United States, aimed at strengthening fellowship, encouraging mission growth, and engaging Ghanaian Presbyterians in the diaspora.

The Moderator was warmly received by the Presbytery Chairperson, District Minister, church leaders, and members who had gathered to welcome him and to express their joy at hosting the pastoral leader of the church. His visit to the Washington DC District forms part of a broader itinerary that has already taken him to several congregations within NAAP, where he has dedicated a manse, interacted with ministers and presbyters, and shared messages of hope and renewal.

During his engagements in the District, Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye is expected to meet with ministers, and congregational leaders to discuss the mission outlook of the church, the role of diaspora congregations and many more. He will also lead worship services, offer pastoral encouragement, and interact with the youth and various ministry groups.

The Moderator’s pastoral visit underscores the PCG’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its global congregations and ensuring that members abroad remain connected to the Church’s vision and mission. His presence in the Washington DC District is anticipated to inspire renewed dedication to ministry, deepen unity, and strengthen the spiritual life of the congregations within the District.
