The Sekyere Presbytery has taken a significant step to enhance its communication and publicity efforts with the acquisition of new media equipment for its Public Relations and Media Unit. Presenting the items at a brief ceremony held at the Presbytery Office, the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Sam Foster Kwakye, underscored the growing importance of Public Relations and Church Media in contemporary ministry.
He noted that effective communication is essential for bridging the gap between the Church and the wider public, particularly the youth who rely heavily on social media for information. Rev. Kwakye explained that although the Presbyterian Church of Ghana continues to make remarkable contributions in missions, social services, and community development, many of these efforts have not been adequately projected.
He expressed optimism that the new equipment would empower the Presbytery’s PR and Media Unit to tell the church’s story more effectively and highlight its impact across communities. The equipment, valued at GH¢25,000, includes a Canon EOS 90D camera with full accessories, tripod stands, a gimbal stabiliser, microphones, camera bags, and other essential tools to support high‑quality media production.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Unit, the Presbytery’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Ernest Aveti, expressed profound gratitude to the Presbytery leadership for the investment. He assured the Chairperson and the entire Presbytery that the equipment would be put to diligent and responsible use to advance the church’s communication agenda.
He added that the timing of the support was ideal, given the Presbytery’s upcoming activities and the increasing expectations of members. Rev. Sam Foster Kwakye, committed the equipment and the work of the Media Unit to God’s guidance. The Presbytery expressed confidence that the enhanced media capacity will significantly improve visibility, documentation, and engagement across its districts.
