The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has called on the Asomdwoe Mma Congregation in Hamburg to remain united in purpose as they advance the mission of the church in Europe.

He made the call during the dedication of the congregation’s newly purchased chapel on Sunday, 17th May 2026, a historic service that drew leaders and representatives from across the North Germany District.

The dedication service was officiated by the Moderator, assisted by the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, and the Chairperson of the Europe Presbytery, Rev. Seth D. Adzokatse. The service was led by the District Minister, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Kwesi Tete. Also in attendance were the Chairperson of the North America–Australia Presbytery, Rev. Christian K. Gyan‑Kesse, and the Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, a former minister of the Hamburg congregation.

Preaching the sermon, the Moderator urged members to let their lives reflect the message of Christ, reminding them that the grace of God requires believers to live in harmony, joy, and unwavering focus on Jesus. He commended the congregation for their resilience and unity in acquiring the chapel, recalling that his last visit to Hamburg—16 years ago—found a much smaller community. He expressed delight at returning to dedicate a vibrant and growing congregation.

Delegates from all 16 congregations, Preaching Points, and GPWCs under the North Germany District participated in the colourful ceremony. The Moderator, however, cautioned the congregation not to become complacent, stressing that acquiring a chapel is not the end of their mission. He encouraged them to continue reaching out to more souls across Europe, trusting in the strength of the Holy Spirit.

He further charged the congregation to maintain the chapel intentionally and consistently, noting that each future visit should reveal a facility that is well cared for and continually improved. The Europe Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Seth D. Adzokatse, also commended the congregation for their hard work and urged them to remain united, reminding them that when the congregation grows, the district and the Presbytery grow as well.

He encouraged members to leave a legacy worthy of Hamburg’s historic place in the mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
