William Asiama Bekoe elected Europe Presbytery Lay Rep to GAC
The Europe Presbytery has elected Catechist William Asiama Bekoe as its Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council (GAC), following a peaceful and well‑organised election held during the recently concluded Presbytery Session.
Catechist Bekoe secured 18 votes, representing 54 percent of the valid ballots cast, emerging the preferred choice of delegates in one of the key highlights of the Session. The gathering brought together ministers, catechists, and church leaders to deliberate on mission progress and the strategic direction of the Presbytery.
His election is expected to strengthen the voice and participation of the Europe Presbytery at the General Assembly Council. In his remarks, Catechist Bekoe expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to delegates for the trust reposed in him.
He pledged to work diligently in representing the interests of the Europe Presbytery and supporting the wider mission of the Church. Beyond the election, the Presbytery Session provided an opportunity for leaders to review ministry progress, strengthen fellowship, and discuss strategies for deepening the Presbytery’s witness across Europe.
