Ministerial candidates to be commissioned on Sunday
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana will on Sunday, 7th June 2026, hold a commissioning service for ministerial candidates graduating from the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Accra, marking another significant moment in the church’s long tradition of preparing men and women for ordained ministry.
The service will take place at the PCG Peniel Congregation, Teshie, in the Ga Presbytery, beginning at 9am. The ceremony will be officiated by the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, with the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, also participating.
Their presence underscores the importance the church places on ministerial formation and the spiritual commissioning of new pastors who will soon take up responsibilities across Presbyteries and mission fields.
This year’s cohort of candidates from Trinity Theological Seminary has completed rigorous academic, spiritual, and practical training, preparing them to serve congregations worldwide and to support the church’s mission of evangelism and discipleship.
The event is expected to draw ministers, Presbyteries, families, and congregants from across the country. For many, the commissioning service is not only a celebration of the candidates’ journey but also a reaffirmation of the church’s commitment to nurturing leaders who embody integrity, discipline, and spiritual maturity.
The service will be broadcast live on PCGTV, allowing members worldwide to join the worship experience. The broadcast also reflects the church’s growing investment in digital ministry and its desire to make major events accessible to all.
