Your gift must fulfil God’s purpose – Rev. Dr. Osei Bediako Akoto

Every human being is created for a purpose, and to fulfil that purpose, God equips each person with gifts that must be identified, nurtured, and used to advance His mission. This was the central message delivered by Rev. Dr. Daniel Osei Bediako‑Akoto when he served as Guest Speaker at the June 2026 CWS of the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi, held for Ministerial Trainees on Saturday, 13th June 2026.

According to Rev. Dr. Bediako‑Akoto, “God has not called us all to do the same thing. Each person is unique—not photocopies of others—and has gifts that must be utilised in fulfilling God’s mandate and contributing to the development of the Church.”

The programme, held under the theme “Identification and Use of Gifts,” was designed to help Ministerial Trainees discover their God‑given gifts, develop them into skills, and apply them effectively in the collective mission of the Church. Trainees also participated in practical exercises aimed at helping them identify and understand their individual gifts.

Rev. Dr. Bediako‑Akoto cautioned the trainees against a growing trend, especially among the youth, where individuals who feel gifted suddenly desire to be placed at the centre of everything without undergoing proper nurturing and training. He stressed the importance of respecting authority and adhering to the structures of the Church in the exercise of one’s gifts.

The CWS is a special programme designed by the Ramseyer Training Centre to address topical issues essential to the formation of trainees but not covered in their regular coursework. The June edition brought together the 2026 Intake and the 2023 Intake currently in session. The event was chaired by Rev. Charles Kwasi Yeboah, Deputy Director and Chaplain of the Centre, in the absence of the Director, Rev. Gideon Buernor Puplampu.
