Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Anokye Nkansah and their family have donated a newly constructed three‑bedroom manse to the Ebenezer Congregation, Penteng/Nwase, in the Benim District of the Sekyere Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
The facility was dedicated on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in memory of the late Beatrice Abena Anima Ankoye, sister of Rev. Dr. Anokye Nkansah, who hailed from Penteng. Rev. Dr. Nkansah explained that the deplorable state of the congregation’s former manse inspired him to undertake the project.
He recalled that the old building had become uninhabitable and no longer reflected the dignity of the Church and its ministry. Motivated by this concern, he began the project in 2019 with the vision of providing decent accommodation for church agents serving the congregation.
The Chairperson of the Sekyere Presbytery, Rev. Sam Foster Kwakye, representing the Moderator of the General Assembly, commissioned and dedicated the facility. He commended the Nkansah family for their generosity, commitment, and sacrifice toward the work of the Church, describing the donation as a practical demonstration of Christian stewardship and a worthy investment in God’s mission.
Preaching from Luke 7:1–10, Rev. Kwakye drew lessons from the Roman Centurion who built a synagogue for the Jews. He noted that the Centurion’s generosity earned him a good testimony before Jesus and the people. Quoting Luke 7:5— “For he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue”—he emphasized that acts of kindness, generosity, and service often speak on behalf of believers long after they are gone.
He encouraged Christians to invest in God’s work and support kingdom projects that impact lives and communities. Rev. Kwakye further urged the Catechist‑in‑Charge, Session, and members of the congregation to maintain the facility properly and preserve it for future generations. The dedication ceremony attracted clergy, church leaders, family members, and well‑wishers from across the church.
Among the clergy present were Rev. Samuel Affum‑Poku, Benim District Minister; Rev. Fred Kofi Addo, Minister‑in‑Charge of Kofiase Congregation; Rev. Emmanuel Darko, Associate Minister of Ramseyer Congregation, Adum‑Kumasi; Rev. Isaac Antwi‑Boasiako (Rtd.); and Rev. Bernard Gyimah Antwi, Public Relations Officer of the Asante Presbytery.
Also in attendance were Mr. Owusu Sekyere, Kumasi Lay Representative; members of the Kumasi District Standing Committee; representatives from Ramseyer Congregation, Adum‑Kumasi; traditional authorities; and several distinguished guests. Through this generous gesture, the memory of the late Beatrice Abena Anima Ankoye is beautifully preserved.
