The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has honoured two distinguished leaders of the Ga West Presbytery—Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee and Mrs. Adwoa Annor Boakye—for their exceptional leadership, dedicated service, and unwavering commitment to the mission of the church.

The recognition took place during the Moderator’s official five‑day working visit to the Presbytery, where he publicly acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the two leaders to the life and ministry of the church.

Addressing ministers, catechists, presbyters, and congregants, the Moderator praised Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee as a dependable and selfless leader whose loyalty and diligence have strengthened the administration of the church. He noted that Rev. Pobee has consistently provided steady leadership whenever official duties required the Moderator to travel outside Ghana.

“Whenever I have travelled outside the country on official assignments, Rev. Pobee has faithfully stood in for me. He carries out every responsibility with diligence, wisdom, and a deep sense of duty,” he said. The Moderator added that Rev. Pobee’s willingness to serve beyond the call of duty remains a shining example for younger ministers across the denomination.

He also expressed profound appreciation to the Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council, Mrs. Adwoa Annor Boakye, describing her as an exceptional lay leader whose passion, commitment, and visionary service continue to inspire many.

He emphasised that the growth and effectiveness of the Church depend not only on ordained ministers but also on dedicated lay leaders who willingly offer their gifts and resources to God’s work. “Mrs. Adwoa Annor Boakye has demonstrated the true spirit of Christian leadership. Her devotion to duty and commitment to the Church’s mission inspire many within and beyond the Presbytery,” he remarked.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye stressed that the partnership between clergy and laity remains one of the strongest pillars of Presbyterian governance, and the service rendered by both honourees exemplifies this principle. He thanked the entire Ga West Presbytery for their unwavering support to the General Assembly Council and the wider Church.

During an interactive session, the Moderator responded to questions on key institutional matters. He expressed optimism about the progress of Trinity Insurance Brokers, noting that the organisation is stabilising as it works toward becoming a full‑fledged insurance company.

He also addressed discussions on the proposed Accra campus of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) at Laterbiokoshie, explaining that further consultations and assessments are required before a final decision is made. On leadership representation—particularly the participation of women in Presbytery Chairperson elections—the Moderator reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to fairness, opportunity, and ongoing dialogue on leadership inclusion.

The pastoral visit continues across districts, congregations, and mission fields within the Ga West Presbytery as the Moderator seeks to strengthen fellowship, encourage ministry, and deepen the church’s mission.
