The Central Presbytery Women’s Fellowship has extended compassionate support to the Mother Cares Orphanage Home at Agona Jacob, reaffirming the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s commitment to social responsibility and community care.
Led by the Presbytery Women’s Fellowship President, Mrs. Betty Asomaning, and accompanied by the Central Presbytery Chairperson, the delegation visited the orphanage on Wednesday and donated a variety of essential items, including foodstuffs, detergents, clothing, and a cash contribution to aid the upkeep of the children.
The visit formed part of the Fellowship’s annual outreach programme aimed at supporting vulnerable groups within the Presbytery. According to Mrs. Asomaning, the gesture reflects the Church’s calling to demonstrate Christ‑like love through practical acts of kindness. She noted that caring for orphans and vulnerable children remains a core expression of Christian service. “We are here because God calls us to care for those who cannot care for themselves,” she said.
The Presbytery Chairperson commended the Women’s Fellowship for their dedication and encouraged the orphanage staff to remain steadfast in their work. She emphasised that the Presbyterian Church values partnerships that improve the welfare of children and strengthen community support systems. “This donation is a reminder that you are not alone. The Church stands with you,” she added.
Officials of the Mother Cares Orphanage expressed profound gratitude for the support, describing the donation as timely and impactful. They noted that the items would significantly enhance the daily care provided to the children, especially in meeting nutritional and hygiene needs.
The visit ended with prayers, words of encouragement, and renewed commitment from the Women’s Fellowship to continue supporting the orphanage and other vulnerable groups within the Presbytery.
