The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) will on Sunday, 26th July 2026, hold its Global Presbyterian Prayer Marathon (Mid-Year Edition) at the Ebenezer Congregation, Asawasi in Kumasi, under the Asante Presbytery.
The three-hour prayer gathering, scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will be broadcast live on PCG TV. The mid-year edition is themed “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid Through Effective Prayer,” (1 Corinthians 3:10–11 and James 5:16).
The theme aligns with the church’s broader emphasis this year on strengthening spiritual foundations and renewing commitment to its mission of transforming society.
The event will bring together key leaders of the church, including the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, and the Chairperson of the Asante Presbytery, Rev. Samuel Ahima-Yeboah.
Also participating are Rev. Samuel Adu-Gyamfi, Clerk of the Asante Presbytery, and Rev. Dr. Emmanuel K. Sarbah, National Director of Mission and Evangelism.
Gospel musician Ama Glow will minister in song as part of the worship and intercession sessions. The Prayer Marathon forms part of the PCG’s global prayer movement aimed at strengthening the spiritual life of congregations, renewing commitment to mission, and uniting Presbyterians across the world in collective intercession.
Presbyteries will hold similar prayer services during the day as done in January this year.
