The Brong Ahafo Presbytery has entered a new chapter as Rev. Wilberforce Takyi officially assumed office as the 18th Presbytery Chairperson, outlining a three‑prong vision to guide his administration.
Rev. Takyi said his first commitment is to build on the foundation laid by Christ through past leaders of the Presbytery, emphasising continuity, stability and faithfulness to the Church’s mission. His second commitment is to foster stronger collaboration among Departments, Committees and stakeholders, noting that the strength of the Presbytery lies in its collective effort and unity of purpose.
His third commitment is to anchor his leadership firmly on God, recognising that the work of the Church ultimately depends on divine guidance and grace. The handing‑over ceremony was held at the Presbytery Office Conference Room on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Rev. Takyi takes over from Rev. Benjamin Appiah.
In his remarks, the new Chairperson expressed profound gratitude to God and to the entire Presbytery for the confidence reposed in him. He praised the remarkable work of his predecessor, stating that “God has truly used him to elevate this Presbytery,” and pledged to build upon the solid foundation already laid.
The ceremony also witnessed a transition in the office of the Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council. The outgoing Lay Representative, Ms. Nancy Arthur, the 11th to hold the position, formally handed over to her successor, Dr. Daniel Kusi Antwi.
The event brought together Ministers, Presbytery Council members, staff and representatives of various groups, who offered prayers and support for the new leadership as the Presbytery continues its mission and congregational development across the presbytery.
