Rev. Ebenezer Agyei Misah has begun his mandate as the 9th Chairperson of the Western Presbytery with a call to the entire Presbytery to move forward with faith, courage and unity.
His charge set the tone for a new chapter of mission and leadership as he officially assumed office on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, during a handing‑over ceremony at the Trinity Congregation, Takoradi.
In his acceptance speech, Rev. Agyei Misah drew deeply from Joshua 1:1–6, reminding the Presbytery that “leaders come and go, but the mission of God continues.” He paid glowing tribute to the Immediate Past Chairperson, Rev. Dr. Joseph Apea Assamoah, acknowledging his dedication and the progress made under his stewardship.
Using the imagery of Israel’s crossing of the Jordan, Rev. Agyei Misah urged the Presbytery to embrace the future with boldness. He described the challenges ahead as a “Jordan” that must be crossed, expressing confidence that God has already opened doors and provided opportunities for the Presbytery to possess. “The land is before us,” he said. “We must have the faith and courage to take hold of it.”
He identified strength, courage and responsibility as essential qualities for the journey ahead, stressing that leadership cannot be governed by fear. He assured the Presbytery that obstacles would be confronted through prayer, faith and collective responsibility, emphasising that the mission of the Church thrives when its people stand together.
