The Chairperson of the Central Presbytery, Rev. Nana Osei Owusu Fosu, has paid a courtesy call on the Agona Traditional Council, strengthening ties between the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and Nananom as both institutions work toward the development of Agona Nsaba and its surrounding communities.
The visit was led by Rev. Kenneth Yosafo Amankwaa, Headmaster of Nsaba PRESEC and Attached Minister at Ebenezer Congregation, Agona Nsaba. The delegation introduced the new Presbytery Chairperson, the Presbytery Clerk Rev. Frederick Addo Obiri, and the Agona Nsaba District Minister Rev. Albert Nana Boakye to the Omanhene, Nana Okeseku Afari Minta III, and the Traditional Council.
The team included Rev. Amoah, Nsaba PRESEC Chaplain and Minister at Zambia Congregation, the Senior Presbyter and Session Clerk of Ebenezer Congregation, a Presbyter, and the Presbytery Director for AHRM.
In his remarks, the Agona Nsaba District Minister assured Nananom of his full cooperation and collaboration toward the development of the traditional area. He pledged to work closely with the Council to promote peace, unity and progress.
The Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Owusu Fosu, emphasised that evangelism goes hand in hand with honouring the cultural roots God has planted in the community. He thanked Nananom for embracing the Presbyterian Church since 1884, when the early Basel missionaries first touched the land. He expressed gratitude for Nananom’s role in “holding the gate”, preserving peace, moral memory and cultural identity.
He noted that the Church and the Stool share a common flock: “When the youth go astray, it hurts us both; when peace reigns, development follows.”
Omanhene Nana Okeseku Afari Minta III warmly welcomed the ministers and assured them of Nananom’s continued support. He called for deeper partnership between the Stool and the Church to advance the wellbeing of the people of Agona Nsaba.
