The United Bethel Presbyterian Church in Maryland, USA, has funded a fully mechanized borehole project at Kpone Praso in the Banka District, strengthening its ongoing partnership with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to improve rural water access and sanitation.
The West Akyem Presbytery officially dedicated the new facility at a brief ceremony led by the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Charles Baah‑Ankrah. The borehole now provides a reliable supply of potable water to residents of Kpone Praso, marking a significant improvement in the community’s daily living conditions.
Presbytery leaders expressed deep gratitude to Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah, the immediate past Chairperson, acknowledging his instrumental leadership in initiating and executing the project. They also extended appreciation to the United Bethel Presbyterian Church in Maryland for its vital financial and organisational support.
Receiving the facility on behalf of the community, the Odikro of Kpone Praso thanked the Church for the intervention and appealed to local leadership to establish a strict maintenance routine to ensure the borehole serves residents for many years.
