Rev. Wilberforce Takyi to be inducted
– As 18th B/A Presbytery Chairperson
All roads lead to Sunyani as the Brong Ahafo Presbytery prepares to induct Rev. Wilberforce Takyi as its 18th Chairperson in a solemn service on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Ebenezer Congregation.
The service, scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m., will be officiated by the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye. He will be assisted by the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, and members of the General Assembly Council.
The induction forms part of a nationwide exercise to formally install newly elected Presbytery Chairpersons across the Church. The Brong Ahafo Presbytery becomes the fourth of seven Presbyteries whose chairpersons are being inducted between October and November 2026.
Chairpersons of the Ga West, Central and West Akyem Presbyteries have already been inducted. Following the Brong Ahafo induction, similar services will be held for the Western, Dangme Tongu and Asante Akyem Presbyteries.
Rev. Takyi’s induction marks a significant moment in the life of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery as he assumes responsibility for providing pastoral leadership and administrative direction for the Presbytery.
The service is expected to draw ministers, presbyters, other church leaders and members from across the Presbytery and beyond to celebrate this important moment in the Church’s governance and ministry.
