Moderator, Clerk meet retiring ministers

On the sidelines of the 2026 National Crusade, the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye and the Clerk of General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye Danquah has met with retiring ministers in a forward-looking interactive session.

The gathering, held at the at the Basel Mission Guest House in Kumasi on Thursday, acknowledged the men and women who have served faithfully and called the wider church to celebrate lives poured out in service. Presbyterian ministers and catechists retire at the age of 70 years.

The Moderator praised the retirees for their decades of sacrificial ministry, saying their labours had planted seeds of faith across towns and villages and urging younger ministers to emulate their devotion.

He intimated that retirement is not an end but a new season for bearing witness, encouraging the retirees to remain mentors and prayerful pillars. The Clerk echoed the Moderator’s sentiments, thanking the ministers for their steadfastness and administrative cooperation over the years.

The Principal Officers along with the Director of Administration and Human Resource Management, Rev George Obeng Adjei who has also been engaging the retiring ministers, prayed for God’s sustaining grace on them and their families.
