The Akuapem Presbytery ministers’ spouses have held a spiritually uplifting and mission‑focused Biennial Conference at Christ Church, Akropong‑Akuapem, celebrating the church’s heritage while demonstrating renewed commitment to evangelism and Christian family life.
Gathering under the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid – Fear Not, Let Your Hands Be Strong” (1 Corinthians 3:11; Zechariah 8:9–23), the conference brought together ministers’ spouses from across the Presbytery for three days of fellowship, prayer, learning, and reflection on the church’s mission.
A major highlight of the gathering was a practical evangelism outreach undertaken after a training session led by the Presbytery Director for Mission and Evangelism. Equipped with new skills and inspired by the Great Commission, participants moved through the streets of Akropong to share the Gospel. Their efforts yielded 63 souls won for Christ, with 22 retained for the church—a remarkable demonstration of faith in action.
Business sessions also addressed key issues affecting the church and Christian families, including the Agenda 2 Million, strengthening Bible Clubs, responsible parenting, the impact of digital gadgets on children, members’ welfare, and effective manse management.
The conference climaxed with a Thanksgiving Service, which coincided with Parents’ Day. Preaching on behalf of the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Ebenezer Acheampong Asiedu, the Akropong District Minister, Rev. Kingsley Kwaku Gyekye, urged participants to remain steadfast in faith, build on the strong foundation laid by the church’s forebears, and intentionally raise God‑fearing children who will contribute positively to society.
During the service, awards were presented to all six zones that participated in the evangelism exercise, recognising their contribution to the successful outreach that led to 63 souls being won. The 2026 Biennial Conference was not only a celebration of heritage but a renewal of spiritual purpose—affirming that the foundation has been laid, the mission continues, and the future beckons with the call: “Fear not. Let your hands be strong.”
