The Emmanuel Congregation at Dwease in the Asante Akyem Presbytery has been honoured with a Farmers’ Day award, adding to the growing list of laurels won by the Church this year.
The Dwease congregation’s achievement reflects the PCG’s grassroots commitment to farming as a tool for community empowerment, food security, and sustainable livelihoods. It also underscores the Church’s holistic mission of combining faith with practical development.
This latest honour builds on a series of awards received by the PCG across the country during the 41st National Farmers’ Day. At the national level in Ho, Volta Region, the Church was adjudged the National Best Faith-Based Organisation in Practical Agriculture – 2025, a prestigious recognition of its remarkable contributions to agricultural development.
At the district and municipal levels, several PCG institutions and individuals were also celebrated. Rev. Samuel Adom Adjah, District Minister for Latebiokorshie, was named 1st Runner-Up Best Farmer in the Ablekuma Central Municipality for his work in livestock and crop production.
Mr. Samuel Sackitey Kpabitey, DSS Director for West Brong Presbytery, won the Best Agricultural Extension Agent award in Dormaa Central. The Presbyterian Agricultural Stations in Tamale and Garu were honoured as Best Faith-Based Organisations in Agriculture in their respective municipalities, recognised for rural development, farmer cooperatives, and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Together, these awards show the PCG’s growing impact in agriculture nationwide. From congregations to presbyteries and national recognition, the PCG is proving that its mission extends beyond the pulpit—into farms, communities, and households where faith meets practical service.
