The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has called on Christians and the wider society to embrace integrity and righteousness in their daily lives.
He made the appeal during the induction service of the new Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, held at the Most Holy Trinity Congregation, C18 Tema.
Preaching at the service, the Moderator lamented what he described as “too much crookedness in today’s life,” noting that some civil servants, police officers, and even pastors have fallen into dishonest lifestyles. “God is however calling us to mend our crooked ways and live right,” he declared, urging believers to walk in straight paths.
He stressed that the responsibility of the General Assembly Council (GAC) and his office would be to ensure that he succeeds in the service of God and the church. “It is a calling to a great responsibility,” he said, reminding everyone that true service was rooted in spiritual depth.
“Remember that the ability to serve depends on how much God you have,” he added. Turning to the newly inducted Clerk, Rev. Aboagye-Danquah, the Moderator encouraged him to remain steadfast despite inevitable comparisons with his predecessors.
“People will compare you with former clerks, but do not allow anybody’s comparison to sway you because the challenges and victories you will face will be different,” he advised.
