A Statement by the Moderator of the General Assembly of
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana to the Families of the
Murdered Policemen in the Country Recently

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana is saddened by the news about the gruesome murder of Sergeant Michael Djamesi and Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal who were engaged in their legitimate duty at Budumburam in the Central Region. We extend heartfelt sympathy to the families of the murdered officers and pledge the continuous prayer support of the Church for them.

Our heart and prayer support also go to the families of the three officers -Sergeant Agatha Nana Nabin, Lance Corporal Alhassan Asare and Corporal Bernard Antwi – who were murdered earlier in July and August, this year. To lose five peace officers who are also breadwinners of their families within one month is a tragedy that certainly is so difficult to bear. As we commiserate with the bereaved families, we earnestly pray and hope that the authorities will do all in their power to bring the perpetrators of these dastardly acts to book in order to bring justice to the victims and their families.

May Peace, Love and Justice reign in our land. Shalom.

Rt. Rev. Prof. J. O. Y. Mante
