Jesus Christmas Street Party

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has reached the people of Tema Manhean with the Jesus Christmas Street Party. This is an annual programme of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to intentionally reach targeted communities to touch their lives with the Word, food, and gift items.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham N. O. Kwakye, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, together with Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, the Clerk of the General Assembly, took to the streets of Tema Manhean District in the Ga Presbytery to touch hearts through gifts.

The team visited four main designated stations to reach the people: Bankuman, Ethiopia-Awudum, Zinguinchore and Tema New Town Durbar grounds, reaching over 2,000 people, with about 1,000 of them, mainly children, receiving or rededicating their lives to Jesus Christ.

Gathering at Emmanuel Congregation, Tema Manhean, the District Head Station, the team of church members were briefed on the strategic order for the street party by the Director of Development and Social Services, Mrs. Teiko Sabah. The evangelism van went through the town, sharing the salvation message, while the Brigade band took to other parts with placards on display.

The Moderator indicated that the Jesus Christmas Street Party is an initiative of his immediate predecessor, Very. Rev. Prof. JOY Mante. PCG through this programme, sends Christ’s message and food to the people on the street everywhere. The Jesus Christmas Street Party was not done only in the Tema Manhean area; all the Presbyteries, Districts and Congregations replicated the same in their various communities. All sixteen regions of Ghana experienced this life-transforming exercise of the Church.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, through the Department of Development and Social Services (DSS), executes her mandate of social witness to our communities to touch the very core of their needs in health, aid, agriculture, water, sanitation, and many more.

The programme was graced by the directors and management of the head office, the Ag. Ga Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Nii Adjei Mensah, Ga Presbytery Clerk, Tema Manhean District Minister, Ga Presbytery Directors, and church members. To the glory of God, it was a successful programme.
