Moderator Pays a Pastoral Visit to Kwahu Presbytery

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has paid a 5-day pastoral visit, from February 26, 2025 to March 2, 2025 to the Kwahu Presbytery.

He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Benedicta Kwakye, his Personal Assistant, Rev. Carl Henry Clerk and the Public Relations Officer, of the Church, Rev. Ebenezer Ahenkan Owusu.

The delegation were received by the Chairperson of Kwahu Presbytery, Rev. Enock Kofi Obuobi, the Presbytery Clerk, Rev. Frank Twumasi Nkum, the Presbytery Lay Representative and Ms. Beatrice Twerefou,.

The Moderator spoke on the theme for the year, “Celebrating our Heritage, Persisting in Mission” 1Cor. 15:58, and encouraged all present at each place of visit in the Presbytery to stand firm in the Lord. He also highlighted on the Agenda Two Million and the planting of One Thousand Churches with strong appeal to member of the Presbytery to make it a reality. He also highlighted on the construction of the Retreat Center at Kutunse. The Moderator indicated that, the idea for this project was conceived almost 30 years age and this is the time build. Some members committed to contribute more than the minimum amount GHc 200.00 into the project fund whiles he encouraged members to faithfully honour their contribution by paying the at least two hundred Ghana cedis annually.

The Moderator further urged them to pray for the Church in Ghana and beyond, the election of a new Clerk of General Assembly, the Kwahu Presbytery as they elect a new Chairperson this year and the nation, adding that they must strive to always stay united.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye exalted members to be mindful of what we say about the Presbyterian Church, members and agents, “When you paint a bad image of the Church to the public, you militate against Agenda 2 Million.”

Moderator Kwakye further engaged in an interactive sessions with the members at each of the places. Members laid their requests and concerns for which Papa took time to address each of them. The interaction covered on array of issues including, requests for motorbikes, roofing of chapels, PCGTV language, admissions into PCG institutions, etc.

As part of the rounds, the Moderator visited some Presbyterian Health facilities within the Kwahu Presbytery. The facilities were inspected and concerns and questions of the management and staff were addressed. The facilities were, Kwahu Praso Presbyterian Health Center, Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital and Tease Presbyterian Health Center. The Moderator extended his appreciation to the staff of these centers for their dedication and godly service.

The Moderator and his entourage visited the Kwahu Praso, Mpraeso, Kwahu Tafo, Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, Donkorkrom, Tease, Ekye Amanfrom, Amuana Praso, Akoase, Asuboni Rails, Kwahu Nsabah, Nkawkaw Grace, Akwasiho, and Abetifi. The various Districts in the Presbytery were grouped to meet the Moderator at these venues with proximity.

At Akoase, the Moderator dedicated two school buildings of which one was built by the Akoase Congregation and the other by Mr. Oti Agyekum, natives of Akoase and former pupil of the school.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye crowned his visit with a thanksgiving service at the Ramseyer Congregation, Abetifi and delivered the sermon.
