Moderator Visits Asante South Presbytery, Preaches at 10th Anniversary Climax
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, embarked on a pastoral visit to the Asante South Presbytery from April 1st to April 6th, 2025. His visit was marked by interactions with congregations across the eight (8) Districts, culminating in a inspiring sermon at the climax of the Presbytery’s 10th Anniversary celebration held at the Obuasi Black Park.
Pastoral Visit
During his six-day tour, the Moderator visited the Awisem, New Adubiase, Wasa Akropong, Dunkwa, Tutuka, Anyinam, Kunka, and Obuasi Districts. At each stop, he engaged with ministers, catechists, church leaders, and congregants, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to the mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Above all, oneness is key to growth and expansion of the mission.

He would always end each session by requesting for prayer for the nation, PCG agents, GA Clerk’s election and Asante South Presbytery Chairs election.
10th Anniversary
The highlight of the visit was the grand climax of the Asante South Presbytery’s 10th Anniversary celebration, where the Moderator delivered an inspiring sermon on the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Persisting in Building Asante South Presbytery” (1 Corinthians 15:58; Nehemiah 2:17-18). He emphasized the importance of perseverance in the faith, commitment to kingdom work, and unity in building a vibrant Presbytery that reflects the rich heritage of the church.
Referencing 1 Corinthians 15:58, he urged members to be “steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,” assuring them that their labour in the Lord is not in vain. Drawing from Nehemiah 2:17-18, he called on the Presbytery to strengthen its structures and ministries for future growth and impact.
Motorbikes
The Moderator presented eight (8) Motorbikes to the Presbytery on behalf of the General Assembly Council for evangelistic activities in the Presbytery. The Chairperson, Rev. Seth Tetteh Odonkor received them with joy.
Gratitude
Church leaders and congregants expressed profound gratitude for the Moderator’s visit, describing it as a time of spiritual renewal and encouragement. The Presbytery’s leadership reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the mission of the Church, building on the solid foundation laid over the past decade.
The Moderator’s visit to the Asante South Presbytery is part of his broader efforts to strengthen the spiritual and organizational life of the church across Ghana. As the Presbytery marks this milestone, it remains resolute in its dedication to spreading the Gospel and fostering community transformation through faith and service.
