Rt. Rev. A. Nana Opare Kwakye Receives TUDEC Peace Award

In cognition of his outstanding contribution to peace, coexistence and global unity, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has been honoured with the prestigious TUDEC Peace Award.

At the 13th Dialogue and Peace Dinner of TUDEC held in Accra, Ghana, under the theme: “Strengthening Peace: Passing the Culture of Dialogue and Peace to Future Generations,” the Moderator with other distinguished personalities like Major General Richard Addo Gyane, Commandant of KAIPTC, Kathleen Addy, Chairperson, NCCE Ghana and Sheikh Ali Abubakar Napari, Director, The Light Foundation were honoured.

The Peace award was received on behalf of Moderator by Mrs. Teikoh Sabah, National Director for Development and Social Services and Rev. Eric Botchway. Receiving this admirable TUDEC Peace Award adds the Moderator’s name to the esteemed list of past recipients such as Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu and Lt. Gen. Obed Boamah Akwa.

The Award’s night brought together high-ranking personalities emphasizing the national importance of dialogue, tolerance and cooperation in fostering peaceful coexistence.

An acceptance speech delivered on behalf of Rt. Rev. Dr. A. N. Opare Kwakye by Rev. Eric Botchway. He thanked the organizers of the programme and indicated the dedication of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to promoting peace and co-existence in the nation and beyond.

TUDEC is a Turkish non-governmental organization for science, culture, charity, and education. It was founded in Ghana by professionals from the business, educational, medical, and legal sectors in June, 2011. The organization works to facilitate educational, cultural, commercial and humanitarian exchanges in Ghana and beyond.
