Presbyterian Church of Ghana Joins “Tree for Life” Initiative at Achimota Forest

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) proudly joined a commemorative tree planting exercise organized by the Forestry Commission of Ghana at the Achimota Forest Reserve. The event, themed “Tree for Life” (T4L), brought together members of the diplomatic corps, religious leaders, and other dignitaries in a unified effort to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Representing the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery, Rev. Col. David Adoteye Asare, and the National Director for Development and Social Services (DSS), Mrs. Rebeca Teiko Sabah, were present at the ceremony to affirm the Church’s commitment to caring for God’s creation. As part of the exercise, two trees were planted on behalf of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on plots TC4 and TC5 within the forest enclave.

The Forestry Commission, in recognition of this contribution, presented a certificate to the Church, signifying PCG’s active participation in the national campaign for a greener and more sustainable Ghana.

The “Tree for Life” initiative aims to raise awareness on the importance of forest conservation, climate action, and ecological balance, aligning with the Church’s belief in responsible stewardship of the Earth as entrusted by God (Genesis 2:15).

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana remains committed to such collaborative efforts that foster environmental care and sustainable development for future generations.
