The Head of Department for Regions and Missions Associations at the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS), Rev. Georg Meyer, has praised the Presbyterian Health Services (PHS) under the Department of Social Services (DSS) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) for its growing and effective project delivery.
Rev. Georg Meyer is in Ghana for the Young Peace Builders Project and other mission engagements. Speaking in a chat after his visits to the PHS and DSS office at Church House, Rev. Meyer highlighted the longstanding collaboration between the EMS and the PCG, particularly in health and ecological initiatives.
“In the past we’ve had a volunteer at the head office as well in the ecological project,” he said, expressing EMS’s interest in expanding youth exchange programmes between Ghana and Germany. “We’re interested to further that project and for young people from Ghana to go to Germany and from Germany to go to Ghana.”
Rev. Meyer noted touched on the EMS’s continued support for projects managed by the PHS. “Many of the projects that we continue to support from the EMS are run by the project and health, obviously because one of our biggest projects is, we support the PHS in various projects,” he explained.
Reflecting on EMS’s evolving approach to mission support, he added, they used to support the poor and sick through individual contributions, but we’ve realised that the PHS has got good infrastructure in providing that.
