Moderator Salutes BSPG’s Oldest Attendee
A moment of deep reverence and celebration marked the final day of the Bible Study and Prayer Group (BSPG) 60th Anniversary Convention at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, as 96-year-old Joshua Domete from the Adukrom District in the Akuapem Presbytery was honoured for his unwavering commitment to the BSPG, the PCG and to God.
The recognition was led by the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, who commended Mr. Domete’s enduring faith and service. This is a man who has walked faithfully with God, with the Church, and with the BSPG for decades, the Moderator said as he invited him to the high table.
Mr. Domete, dressed in a BSPG-themed outfit bearing the words “Pray Without Ceasing”, received a warm handshake and a symbolic gift from the Moderator and other church leaders. The gesture drew applause from the gathered congregation, many of whom were visibly moved by the moment.
Despite his age, Mr. Domete made the journey to Kumasi to join the convention, demonstrating the depth of his devotion and the strength of his spirit. His life, marked by prayer, Bible study, and evangelistic witness, embodies the very foundation upon which the BSPG was built.
The honouring of Mr. Domete served as a powerful reminder of the legacy of faithfulness that undergirds the BSPG’s mission. As the Group celebrates 60 years of ministry, his example stands as an inspiration to younger generations to remain steadfast in their faith. walk with Christ.
