Feyiase Chief Urges Faithful Christian Service
A representative of the Asantehene, Nana Addae Gyamera, who is the chief of Feyiase, has given a culturally resonant message at the Bible Study and Prayer Group (BSPG) 60th Anniversary Convention held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Nana Addae Gyamera affirmed that Christians are not called to replace the foundation of their faith, but to build upon the one already laid by Jesus Christ. “We are not to replace the foundation. “We are to build on it” he said.
He drew compelling parallels between the enduring heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom and the spiritual heritage of Christianity, noting that both are rooted in honour, reverence, and continuity. Just as the Ashanti people honour their ancestors and uphold their traditions, Christians must honour God by preserving the foundation laid by Christ, he said.
The chief shared the importance of strong faith in Jesus Christ, urging Christians to protect their spiritual heritage and serve God with sincerity and devotion. “Our heritage must be protected,” he declared. “We must serve God well.”
His remarks added a rich cultural dimension to the convention’s theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid – With Perseverance,” and underscored the shared values of legacy, faithfulness, and spiritual continuity.
