YPG NEC renew spiritual, administrative focus
The National Executive Committee of the Young People’s Guild (YPG) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at a three-day retreat, at Anyinam, Obuasi, in the Asante South Presbytery, has renewed their commitment to spiritual and administrative growth, reinforcing the Guild’s commitment to Christ-centered leadership and service.
Gathering under the theme “Building on the Foundation Already Laid as Youth” (1 Corinthians 3:11), the retreat opened with a warm welcome service at Ascension Congregation, Obuasi, where executives were received by Presbytery leaders and later lodged at Andreas Riis Congregation, Anyinam.
The second day was devoted to fasting, prayer, and reflection, led by Rev. Ebenezer Kweku-Kwesi and Rev. P. C. Ohemeng Manu. Beyond spiritual renewal, the day included interactive sessions with guilders from the Asante South Presbytery.
Discussions addressed key issues such as Presbyterianism Awareness Month, the Guild Development and Management System (GDMS), the Youth Endowment Fund, and Guild souvenirs. The dialogue strengthened trust and clarified the Guild’s vision, ensuring alignment between national leadership and local members.
The retreat climaxed on the third day with a thanksgiving service at Andreas Riis Congregation. Preaching on the theme “Behold the Servant of God,” Rev. Ebenezer Kweku-Kwesi urged faithful service rooted in humility, obedience, and dedication. The presence of the National Executives was described by the District Minister as refreshing and uplifting, bringing renewed vitality to the congregation.
The retreat reinforced spiritual discipline, strengthened administrative resolve, and deepened fellowship among leaders and members. Anchored firmly on Christ, the only sure foundation, the 2026 YPG National Executive Committee Retreat is a testimony to the Guild’s vision of nurturing faithful, responsible, and impactful youth leadership for both Church and society.
