NAAP gives Moderator warm welcome
Ministers and officers of the North America and Australia Presbytery (NAAP) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) have given the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, a warm reception as he begins his pastoral visit to the presbytery.
Led by the Chairperson, Rev. Christian B. Appenteng, NAAP officials met the Moderator at the Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 6:50 a.m. (AEST), that is 8:50 p.m. GMT. On arrival, he was welcomed by the District Minister for Australia, Rev. Kwadjo Osei Bonsu, together with members of the church who expressed joy at receiving the Moderator.
The visit, which spans from January 23 to February 2, 2026, is designed to strengthen fellowship among PCG members in Australia, deepen pastoral care, and encourage congregations in their mission and witness. It comes on the heels of the Moderator’s last pastoral engagement in November 2025 with the Western Presbytery in Ghana.
During his stay, the Moderator will worship with congregations, meet with church leaders, and dedicate new places of worship. His presence is expected to inspire members and reaffirm the PCG’s commitment to global mission, pastoral oversight, and unity across continents where the church continues to expand its presence.
The pastoral visit is a key feature in the Moderator’s yearly plan, underscoring the PCG’s vision of building bridges with its diaspora communities. It ensures that members of the church everywhere remain connected to the mission of spreading the gospel and nurturing discipleship.
