The 2026 Akuapem Presbytery First Evangelism and Church Growth Consultation has taken place with strong participation and a renewed resolve for effective evangelism.

The event, held at Trinity Congregation, Mampong Akuapem, was organised by the Presbytery’s Department of Mission and Evangelism and led by Rev. Richard Oseiko Gyimah, Director of Mission and Evangelism.

It was chaired by Rev. Ebenezer Acheampong Asiedu, Chairperson of Akuapem Presbytery, with Evangelist Samuel Asamoah Nyarko of Sowers International delivering the keynote address. Under the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid – For Church Growth”, the consultation provided church leaders with practical tools and strategic insights for sustainable growth.

Through presentations, discussions, and spiritual reflection, participants were equipped to strengthen their ministry impact. A major highlight was the emphasis on Agenda 2 Million, the vision to increase church membership to two million by 2028, coinciding with the bicentennial anniversary of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

In line with this vision, participants examined the bold target of planting 1,000 new churches nationwide. The Akuapem Presbytery has been allocated 75 new churches, and encouragingly, 38 have already been planted, reinforcing the commitment to territorial expansion and deeper community penetration.

The consultation also set clear evangelism goals for districts, chaplains, campus coordinators, and outreach leaders, ensuring accountability across all ministry arms. The initiative “Operation Show Your Convert” was strongly underscored, with each member challenged to intentionally win at least one soul by the end of the year.

A practical evangelism session using the conversational approach “So wo nim sɛ nkwa foforo bi wɔ hɔ” (“Do you know there is a new life available?”) allowed participants to practice simple yet effective techniques for sharing the Gospel.
