Kwahu Presbytery has announced the official launch of activities marking 150 years of the Gospel on Kwahu land. The celebrations, themed “Celebrating 150 Years of the Gospel on Kwahu Land – Our Response”, will begin with a candlelight procession on Saturday, 14th March 14, 2026, followed by the formal anniversary launch on Sunday, 15th March.

The candlelight procession, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will be led by the Junior Youth, Young People’s Guild, and Young Adults’ Fellowship. In the Beposo zone, the procession will start from Nkwatia junction and move towards Trinity Congregation, Nkwatia‑Kwahu. In the Bepoase zone, participants will gather at Grace Congregation, Adoagyiri, and Peniel Congregation, Nkawkaw‑Nsuta, serving as starting points.

Brass bands and youth groups are expected to add colour to the evening’s events. The following day, Sunday, 15th March, the official launch of the 150th anniversary will take place at 9am at Ramseyer Congregation, Nkwatia. The event will bring together clergy, presbyters, congregants, and community leaders to reflect on the legacy of Rev. Fritz Ramseyer and the impact of the Gospel in Kwahu over the past century and a half.

Kwahu Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene explains that the anniversary is not only a time of remembrance but also a call to renewed commitment. Through worship, fellowship, and historical reflection, they hope inspire congregations to carry forward the mission of the church with unity” he said.

The candlelight procession and launch are expected to set the tone for a year‑long programme of activities, including lectures, exhibitions, historical visits, and thanksgiving services, all designed to honour the legacy of the Gospel on Kwahu land.
