The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has urged doctors, nurses, and administrators at the Presbyterian Regional Eye Centre (PREC) in Yorogo to ensure that the newly dedicated maternity and theatre blocks are properly maintained for the benefit of the community.
Speaking during the dedication and inspection of the facility, the Moderator commended the transformation of the Eye Centre into a full hospital, describing it as a big development in healthcare delivery for the Bolgatanga Municipality and surrounding districts.
He noted that the expansion, which now includes maternity wards, an operating theatre, inpatient wards, antenatal and child welfare services, alongside ophthalmic care, represents a major step toward improving access to quality healthcare.
The Moderator reminded staff that while the new infrastructure is a blessing, its true value lies in how well it is managed and preserved. He stated that the responsibility of sustaining the facility rests on the collective commitment of healthcare workers and administrators to uphold standards of care, compassion, and integrity.
He further encouraged the team to see the hospital not only as a centre for healing but also as a symbol of hope for families who depend on it. “Let these blocks stand as a testimony of faith and service to humanity,” he said, urging staff to keep the facility in excellent condition for generations to come.
