The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has commended the Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) for their visionary leadership and sacrificial commitment in spearheading the construction of the new Presbyterian Health Centre at Akyeremade in the Kwadaso District of the Asante Presbytery.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Moderator quoted 1 Timothy 4:12, reminding the gathering that youth must be examples in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity. He praised the YAF for embodying this scripture, noting that what began as a “wild idea” has now become a tangible blessing to the community.

He stated the courage, unity, and sacrificial giving demonstrated by the fellowship, stressing that their initiative proves young people are not just the church of tomorrow but the heartbeat of the church today. “Because of your initiative, a mother in this community will no longer have to travel kilometres in labour. An elderly person will receive timely check-ups. You have brought the healing touch of Christ to the doorsteps of those who need it most,” he said.

The Moderator urged the Men’s and Women’s Fellowships to take inspiration from YAF’s achievement and embark on similar health infrastructure projects across the Presbytery. He also expressed gratitude to the Presbytery leadership, congregations, and local community leaders for their support, particularly for releasing land for the project.

The Moderator further saluted YAF members past and present, declaring: “We see you, we honour you, and we are immensely proud of you. You have set a standard for generations to come. Well, done!” The commissioning of the Presbyterian Health Centre, Akyeremade, adds to the growing list of healthcare delivery services under the department of the Development and Social Services (DSS).
