The newly elected Clerk of the Ga Presbytery, Rev Emmanuel Adjetey Quaye, has dedicated his victory to the memory of the late Rev Dr Erasmus Odonkor, describing him as a spiritual father who shaped his ministry and opened doors of service for him.

Speaking at the 104th Ga Presbytery Session at the Presbyterian Women’s Centre, Abokobi, Rev Quaye paid an emotional tribute to the late minister, recalling the pivotal role he played in his growth. “I dedicate this election to my good friend and father, the late Rev Dr Erasmus Odonkor. He took special interest in me; he gave me opportunities. Through him, I served on the Children and Youth Committee of the Bible Society of Ghana,” he said.

Rev Quaye was elected after contesting alongside the Taifa District Minister, Rev Daniel Lankai Lawson, and Catechist Silas Aristotle Tagoe. His election forms part of the business of the 2026 Presbytery Session, which is being held under the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage; Building on the Foundation Already Laid” (1 Corinthians 3:11). The Session runs from Thursday, 9th to Sunday, 12th April 2026.

Delegates at the Session applauded Rev Quaye’s acknowledgment of mentorship and legacy, noting that his tribute reflects the theme’s call to honour the foundations laid by past leaders while advancing the mission of the church. The Ga Presbytery Session continues with worship, deliberations and activities aimed at strengthening the spiritual and administrative life of the Presbytery.
