Rev. Joseph Azumah Alale – New Clerk for Upper Presbytery

The Upper Presbytery has elected Rev. Joseph Azumah Alale as its next Presbytery Clerk. His election took place during the 16th Presbytery Session held at Christ Congregation, Sandema. Rev. Alale will assume office in September 2026, succeeding Rev. Anthony Ayeida Asarah as the 5th Clerk of the Presbytery.

The 16th Presbytery Session opened on Friday, 10th April 2026, under the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid” (1 Corinthians 3:11). The gathering brought together delegates from all 15 districts of the Presbytery, ministers, and a wide range of distinguished guests. Among those present were the National Director of Finance, former Northern Presbytery Clerk and Lay Representative, the Chief of Sandema with his elders, members of the Christian Council in Sandema, and congregants from across the area.

The atmosphere at Christ Congregation was marked by unity, prayer, and a shared sense of purpose as delegates deliberated on the mission and administrative life of the Presbytery. The election of Rev. Alale formed a key highlight of the Session, signalling a new chapter of leadership for the Upper Presbytery.

Delegates expressed confidence that the Clerk‑Elect will bring dedication, administrative competence, and spiritual depth to the office as the Presbytery continues to strengthen its witness and service.

The Upper Presbytery extends its warmest congratulations to Rev. Joseph Azumah Alale and prays for God’s guidance as he prepares to assume this important leadership role.
