The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has called on members of the North American Australian Presbytery to move from fear to faith in their Christian journey.

Preaching during his pastoral visit to the Presbytery in Orange, New Jersey, the Moderator encouraged congregants to cultivate a positive outlook grounded in their faith in Christ rather than allowing fear to dominate their lives. He observed that many believers today are overwhelmed by fear—fear of activities, people, and uncertain events—which often hinders spiritual growth.

Drawing from John 20 and the events following the resurrection of Christ, he explained that just as the disciples transitioned from fear to confidence after encountering the risen Lord, Christians today must also embrace faith in the face of life’s challenges. He emphasized that a true encounter with the resurrected Christ has the power to transform fear into unwavering faith.

“We should be positive in building our faith in Christ rather than being negative and consumed by fear,” he said, urging members to remain steadfast in their walk with God. He further assured the congregation that trusting in God’s presence and promises in every circumstance is essential to overcoming fear.

The Moderator concluded by reminding the faithful that their fears will be transformed into faith when they experience the resurrected Christ.
