Moderator praises West Akyem Presbytery Chairperson
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has commended the West Akyem Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah, for what he described as “excellent and visionary leadership” at a welcome service at the Emmanuel Congregation’s Chapel, Oda.
The service, which drew ministers, traditional leaders, congregants, and pupils from the Oda New Town Presbyterian Basic School, marked a big moment of celebration for the Presbytery’s recent administrative and infrastructural achievements.
In his address, the Moderator praised Rev. Abekah for his commitment to continuity, particularly his decision to complete ongoing projects initiated under previous leadership. He mentioned the newly completed Executive Lounge at Akyem Oda as a landmark achievement, describing it as one of the first of its kind within the PCG and a model for future Presbytery infrastructure.
Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye also acknowledged the contributions of Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council, Mrs. Comfort Osei Boakye, noting that her dedication at the Presbytery level reflects in her service to the church.
Reflecting on the legacy of past leaders, the Moderator reminded the congregation that the PCG’s current progress is built on the sacrifices of predecessors. He urged members to commit themselves to the ongoing growth of the church so that future generations may benefit from their labour.
The Moderator presented a Bicentenary Holy Bible to Dabehene of Akyem Abenase, Nana Ackom Nkansah, in recognition of his unwavering support for the Presbytery’s development.
