The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has called on the West Akyem Presbytery to be united and have collective purpose, stressing that internal divisions hinder the PCG’s mission and weaken its impact.

He made the call during a well‑attended welcome service at the Emmanuel Congregation’s Chapel, Oda. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3:1–11, the Moderator warned that disunity remains one of the greatest threats to spiritual and institutional progress. He urged ministers, officers, and congregants to recognise their unique roles while working together in harmony for the advancement of the church.

The service brought together ministers, traditional leaders, congregants, and students from the Oda New Town Presbyterian Basic School. It also served as a moment to celebrate the Presbytery’s recent achievements, including the completion of the Executive Lounge at Akyem Oda, which the Moderator described as a pioneering facility within the PCG.

He encouraged the Presbytery to build on its current momentum, noting that ministers originating from West Akyem are performing with distinction in the North America and Australia Presbytery, yielding “great results” for the global mission of the PCG.

The Moderator further urged the faithful to prepare for the PCG’s Bicentenary celebration in 2028, promising that the 200th anniversary would be marked in a special and memorable way. The service ended with a presentation of a Bicentenary Holy Bible to Nana Ackom Nkansah, Dabehene of Akyem Abenase, in recognition of his immense support for the Presbytery’s growth and development.
