Use chapel to nurture children – Moderator
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare‑Kwakye, has encouraged ministers and congregants of the newly constructed Children’s Chapel at the Akyem Aboabo Patmos Congregation, named the Col. Rtd. Isaac Akuoko Children’s Chapel, to use the facility intentionally for the instruction and nurturing of children.
The Moderator stressed that the congregation must prioritise the maintenance and proper use of the building, ensuring that it remains a sanctuary dedicated solely to the glory of God and the growth of the next generation.
He made these remarks during a spirit‑filled dedication ceremony that brought together church leaders, family representatives, and members of the congregation to celebrate this significant development in the life of the church.
Highlighting the spiritual and generational importance of the new chapel, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare‑Kwakye noted that its purpose goes beyond providing a physical space. He explained that the facility represents a shared vision to nurture children in the fear of the Lord and to strengthen the foundation of Christian education.
The chapel project was jointly financed by the Patmos Congregation and the family of the late Col. Rtd. Isaac Akuoko. Along with the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah, council members, and the Akuoko family, the Moderator dedicated and committed the chapel to the service of God.
