The 23rd Presbytery Session of the Sekyere Presbytery has elected Rev. Kweku Nyamekye Aidoo as the next Clerk of the Presbytery. Rev. Aidoo secured victory in the third round of voting, after advancing from the second round alongside two other ministers. He obtained 44 votes out of 83 valid ballots cast, while the runner‑up, Rev. John Ayam, received 39 votes.
Rev. Aidoo becomes the seventh Clerk of the Sekyere Presbytery since its elevation in 2003. Born on 26th February 1986 in Accra and originally from Saltpond, he was commissioned into the ordained ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in 2020 and ordained in 2022. He holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Trinity Theological Seminary (2019), a Certificate in Ministry from the Ramseyer Training Centre (2020), and a Bachelor of Education in Information Technology (B.Ed. IT, 2009) from the University of Education, Winneba.
With a strong ministerial passion for Christian Education and a deep interest in Children, Youth, and Aged Ministries, Rev. Aidoo has served the Church in several capacities, including Campus Ministry, Generational Group leadership, and mainstream congregational work. Since 2023, he has served as Minister‑in‑Charge of Victory Congregation, Bepoase, in the Wiamoase District. Before this posting, he was Minister‑in‑Charge of Emmanuel Congregation, Atonsu, in the Kwamang District.
His wider service to the Church includes work as Chaplain of the Sekyere Presbytery Brigade since 2021, CLAN Coordinator for the Wiamoase District from 2024 to date, and District Clerk for both the Nsuta District (2021) and the Kwamang District (2021–2023). He has also contributed to the administrative life of the Presbytery as a member of the Recording Team at Sessions.
Before entering ordained ministry, Rev. Aidoo taught ICT at Insaaniyya Senior High School (ISHS) in Kasoa from 2011 to 2016, where he also served as Assistant House Master and as a member of the school’s Examination and Entertainment Committees.
Rev. Nyamekye Aidoo is married and blessed with one child.
