A newly constructed seven‑bedroom manse has been officially dedicated at Akyem Awisa by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, marking a major development for the congregation and the wider district.

The seven‑bedroom manse is fully furnished and ready for use. The dedication ceremony symbolised a new chapter of ministry, hospitality, and leadership for the Akyem Awisa community, reinforcing the church’s commitment to equipping its ministers.

The ceremony drew a distinguished gathering, including the Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko, Former Finance and Senior Minister, Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo, members of the Presbytery Council, and traditional leaders who joined the congregation to celebrate this significant addition to the church’s infrastructure.

In an earlier sermon, the Moderator reflected on the rich historical journey of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, highlighting landmark anniversaries that have shaped its identity and mission. He recalled the 50th anniversary of the Basel Mission in 1878, the Centenary of the Presbyterian Church of the Gold Coast in 1928, and the 150th anniversary of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in 1978.

Looking ahead, he urged the congregation to prepare spiritually and organisationally for the church’s bicentennial celebration in 2028, describing it as a moment of deep reflection and renewed commitment.

The Moderator expressed profound appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him throughout his pastoral visit. He commended the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah and the Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council (GAC), Mrs Comfort for their tireless service and dedication to the growth of the church at both local and national levels.

Preaching from Lamentations 3:23–24 on the theme “Our God Is Faithful,” the Moderator reminded the congregation that God’s promises remain firm and His sovereignty unshaken. “We are called to remain steadfast in our calling,” he said. “Regardless of the challenges or obstacles we face, we must walk faithfully and rely solely on the Almighty.”

He also highlighted two major pillars currently driving the national agenda of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana: Agenda 2 Million, the church’s strategic push to expand its membership and evangelistic reach; and the Kutunse Project.
