Dangme Tongu Presbytery elects Rev. Puplampu as Chairperson
The Dangme Tongu Presbytery has elected the Director of the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC), Rev. Gideon Buenor Puplampu as its next Presbytery Chairperson, following an orderly electoral process on Saturday at Odumase.
During the nomination stage, Rev. Puplampu received 57 votes, placing him well ahead of Dr. E. K. Sarbah, who secured seven votes, and Dr. Eric Taye Kau, who obtained 5 votes. The nominations reflected broad confidence in his pastoral leadership and long-standing service within the church.
In keeping with the electoral procedures, delegates proceeded to a Yes-or-No confirmation vote to affirm the leading nominee. The Presbytery responded with overwhelming unity, giving Rev. Puplampu 97 percent approval, including 79 YES votes, thereby confirming him as Chairperson‑Elect of the Dangme Tongu Presbytery.
His election is seen as a testament to the trust the Presbytery places in his spiritual maturity, administrative competence, and commitment to the mission of the church. As Chairperson‑Elect, Rev. Puplampu is expected to guide the Presbytery in strengthening evangelism, nurturing discipleship, and advancing the church’s developmental and missional agenda across the Dangme Tongu area.
The peaceful and reverent nature of the process reflects the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s enduring commitment to order, discernment, and responsible leadership selection. The Presbytery now looks ahead with hope as it prepares to continue its ministry under Rev. Puplampu’s stewardship.
