Faithful stewardship essential for growth – Clerk of G. A.

0

Discipline and accountability are indispensable to the growth and health of the church, the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye‑Danquah, has said. He made the call during an official inspection visit to the proposed Ahwerase District, carved out of the Aburi District in the Akuapem Presbytery.

The Clerk was received by the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Ebenezer Acheampong Asiedu, together with members of the Presbytery Session Council Standing Committee, at the Prince of Peace Congregation, Ahwerase, which is expected to serve as the Head Station of the proposed District.

Representatives from all eight congregations and six preaching points were present, marking an important step in the church’s constitutional process toward district elevation. As part of the exercise, the congregations submitted their statutory and administrative records including Session Minutes, Membership Registers, Baptismal and Marriage Registers, Financial Records, and Property Documents for inspection and verification.

Rev. Aboagye‑Danquah examined the documents and interacted with Ministers, Catechists, Presbytery leaders, and congregation representatives. He expressed satisfaction with the orderly administration, effective record‑keeping, and steady growth demonstrated by the proposed District. He also inspected the administrative offices and related facilities that will support the work of the District upon elevation.

Addressing the gathering, the Clerk urged the leadership and membership to remain united and steadfast in their Christian witness, emphasising that faithful stewardship must remain central to their ministry. He encouraged them to continue strengthening the foundations already laid as they prepare for the responsibilities of district status.
