10-year-old artist shines at B/A Presbytery anniversary
A delightful moment at the 60th Anniversary Durbar of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery came through the artistic brilliance of Katherine‑Grace Kusi Antwi, a 10‑year‑old member of the Children’s Service who captivated participants with an impressive exhibition of her drawings.
Katherine‑Grace, known in art circles as Kate, is the daughter of the newly elected Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council (GAC), Dr. Daniel Antwi. A Class Four pupil of Divine Montessori School in Sunyani, she worships with the Resurrection Congregation, New Dormaa, in the Sunyani East District.
Kate discovered her passion for drawing at the age of six. Recognising her natural gift, her parents enrolled her in weekend art lessons to help nurture her creativity under the guidance of a professional tutor. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the power of visual storytelling.
Despite her young age, Kate dedicates at least five hours each week to practice, steadily refining her technique and artistic expression. Her commitment and discipline continue to shape her into a promising young artist with a bright future.
Her exhibition at the durbar not only added colour to the celebration but also highlighted the emerging talents within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s younger generation.
