The Western Presbytery Women’s Fellowship has held its 38th Annual Delegates Conference, followed by a colourful thanksgiving service to climax the three‑day gathering. The conference opened on 8th May 2026 at the Holy Child College of Education, Fijai, in the Sekondi District.

Representing the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Samuel Asare‑Nkansah delivered the keynote address and officially opened the conference. Delegates, beautifully dressed in the red patched cloth popularly known as “Dame Dame,” participated actively in the proceedings. The conference was led by President of the Western Presbytery Women’s Fellowship, Mrs. Mabel Agyepong, under the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid — Woman, a Dependable Builder.”

On Sunday, 10th May 2026, delegates—clad in their green “kontomire” badge cloth—joined the Ebenezer Congregation, Sekondi, for a thanksgiving service to close the conference. Preaching the sermon, the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Dr. Joseph Apea Assamoah, congratulated the Fellowship for a successful gathering and extended warm Mother’s Day wishes to all women in the Presbytery.

Drawing lessons from Scripture, he stated the indispensable role of women in the life of the church. He cited Ruth, whose loyalty and dependability shaped her destiny, and Lois and Eunice, whose sincere faith nurtured Timothy, as biblical examples of dependable builders. He reminded the congregation that the Christian life is a continuous building process, shaped by daily choices, and anchored on Jesus Christ, the solid Rock.

The service was attended by traditional leaders, including the Queen Mothers of Essikado, Nana Kodu, and Nana Akoba II of Agona Nkwanta, as well as sister churches and community leaders. A highlight of the event was the presentation of a citation and gift to Mrs. Shirley Boatemaah Ofosu for eight years of voluntary service in selling Women’s Fellowship souvenirs at the Presbytery level—an act described as exemplary and worthy of emulation.

Supporting the Chairperson at the conference were the Presbytery Lay Representative, Mr. Boakye Boateng, Rev. Amanamah Kobbinah Assuah (Sekondi District Minister), Rev. Augustine Nartey (Regional Manager of Schools, Western and Western North), and other dignitaries.
