Promoting academic excellence is our goal
The Director of Education and General Manager of Schools, Mr. Daniel Yeboah Heinno has disclosed that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has intensified its efforts to promote academic excellence across its schools through a series of strategic interventions led by his department.
These interventions, he noted, include capacity‑building programmes designed to enhance the professional competence of teachers and improve classroom delivery. Workshops, training sessions and professional development seminars, he added have been organised across multiple Presbyteries to ensure that teachers remain equipped with modern pedagogical skills.
This came to light during the third edition of the PCG Connect series at Church House, Osu in Accra on Tuesday. The Director of Education and General Manager of Schools explained that the church has invested heavily in the provision of learning materials, including textbooks, teaching aids and school buses to support mobility and access.
Infrastructural support has been a major priority, with PCG funding school clinics, canteens and classroom renovations to create safe and conducive learning environments. Education consultations have also been held to help schools align with national standards while maintaining the church’s values‑based identity.
Mr. Daniel Yeboah Heinno stated that these interventions form part of a broader strategy to ensure that PCG schools remain competitive, relevant and impactful in Ghana’s evolving educational landscape.
